"The Ellicott City Collection (EC) : Historic Ellicott City, Maryland, was founded in 1772 by the three Ellicott brothers who established a mill for what soon became a prosperous farming and manufacturing community. It was the first terminus of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad which made it a major center of commerce. It is a major tourist attraction because of its many old stone buildings that date from its founding, as well as its large selection of antique and specialty shops, some of which are built directly over the Tiber River that runs through the heart of the town.
